Ski Instructor at Telluride Ski Resort (USA) and Turoa Ski Field (NZ)
Twenty-eight winters | Telluride, CO, USA and Ohakune, New Zealand
PSIA Level 3 Ski, AASI Level 2 Snowboard, and Children’s Accredited Instructor
My job as an instructor requires me to understand the learning processes of any age and the developmental/ physical changes that allow us to ski and snowboard. I also need to manage the safety of all my students, no matter what their ages or abilities are. I developed life-long relationships with many of my clients – and although inactive now – I will continue to teach when I can.
Field Instructor at NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School)
Ten summers | Lander, WY, USA
As a former field instructor, myself and my co-instructors led groups of 10-15 students for 30-day long remote wilderness expeditions. With a focus on leadership, we taught and assessed a full outdoor education, leadership, and environmental curriculum. From Leave No Trace to cooking, from group dynamics to risk management, I mentored my students to meet – and exceed – the goals they set for themselves at the start of the course.
Trip Director at Wilderness Ventures
Three summers | Jackson, WY, USA
I led and managed outdoor adventure trips in the US and Europe. These trips included everything: backpacking, climbing, sea kayaking, white water rafting (day and overnight) and/ or mountain climbing. I managed every aspect of the trip, from the kids’ safety to sub-contractor coordination, as well as office paperwork and trip finances.
